Our organization was born out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in East Tennessee. Inspired by Barbara Jean Sheets (aka Mama Jean), the inspiration for our work and the matriarch of the family. We are dedicated to providing essential resources, support, and opportunities for growth to those in need.

Our programs focus on offering support, resources, and opportunities related to vital materials for children and teachers, as well as scholarships to enhance children's prospects for a brighter future. This assistance aims to aid families facing challenges in providing school materials at the start of the academic year and provide funds to support their child's education.

On January 4, 2025, N Her Footsteps’ Bundle Up & Pack Up event was held at Jefferson Middle School. Families registered to receive essential items, including coats, hoodies, gloves, beanies, school supplies, and snack bags for students; and a food box for their household. While many families successfully picked up their items, there is still inventory remaining from those who did not attend. Therefore, we will distribute the remaining items on February 2, 2025, at the Jefferson City Community Center, on a first-come, first-served basis. We have inventory in all areas including food boxes. Pre-registration is not required. Arriving early is recommended to ensure we have the sizes you need.
Who’s eligible?
Families who missed the original event or didn’t register in time. Families who previously received items will not be eligible to receive again.
