About Us

Our organization was born out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in East Tennessee. Inspired by Barbara Jean Sheets (aka Mama Jean), the inspiration for our work and the matriarch of the family.  We are dedicated to providing essential resources, support, and opportunities for growth to those in need.

We’re committed to removing everyday barriers so students can learn, grow, and thrive. Through our Student Empowerment initiatives, we provide essential care items that support academic, social, and personal well being. Our Food for Our Neighbors program delivers consistent, dignified food assistance to families across the community. And with Classroom Heroes, we equip teachers with the supplies they need to create nurturing, successful learning environments. Together, we’re building stronger schools and a stronger community.

United in Care, Committed to Feeding Our Neighbors.

Our Food for Our Neighbors Program provides essential food boxes to families across Jefferson County, ensuring they have access to nutritious support during challenging times. Through strong community partnerships and compassionate outreach, we’re helping neighbors stay healthy, supported, and connected.

This work is made possible through the generosity of organizations like United Way, 100+ Women of Jefferson County, and Bush Beans, along with the kind donations of many others who support our mission. Together, we’re actively working to reduce hunger, strengthen families, and ensure our neighbors have the support they need.

How to Round Up:
1.  Sign in or create an account on Walmart.com or in the app.
2.  Click “Giving & Impact” in your account settings.
3.  Select N Her Footsteps as your local charity.
4.  Review your selection and click “Done.”
Every small contribution helps strengthen our programs and support neighbors across Jefferson County.


Adopt a School

When you adopt a school, you directly support students and teachers by helping us provide Care Kits, EmpowerHer Kits, and essential classroom supplies through our Teacher Supply Stations. Whether you're a business, church, civic group, or a caring individual, your partnership creates meaningful impact right inside Jefferson County classrooms.

Your support helps ensure students have the hygiene items they need and teachers have access to supplies that keep their classrooms running smoothly. It’s a hands-on way to strengthen our schools and uplift the families who rely on these resources.
